I’m in the process of setting up two more blogs. One is going to be called Front End Artist, where I blog about my work as, you guessed it, front-end web developer. I’m finding that my work is in great demand these days and I wanted a forum for my observations and things I learn.
And finally, my freelance web development/consulting will be its own full-fledged portfolio with a blog. This site’s audience is fellow solopreneurs/small business owners, where as FrontEndArtist.com’s audience will be other developers and web professionals.
Now, I’m the first one who’s going: “This is insane, Ari, how do you plan to keep up all these blogs?” The answer is, I don’t know — just slowly, I guess. I’m just keeping an eye on each blog and make sure I post something every month. But the important thing is, by creating “buckets” specific to each audience, I somehow feel more more justified to voice my opinions to that audience. Thanks to WordPress 3.1, keeping multiple sites has gotten considerably easier — but still, maintaining them is a formidable challenge, both content-wise and technically. I am seldom short on something to say. The challenge lies in managing the workload.
But, a man’s gotta do what he’s gotta do. I’m committed to creating my own online presence — brick by brick.
