Over the years I amassed many songs and unfinished snippets, and yet, so far most of them have not seen the light of the day, as I haven’t been able to pull them together.
But sitting in my head does absolutely no good. Even the rawest ideas, when shared, have more potential to create impacts than just unknown ideas sitting in some idiot’s head.
So, below I’m going to share all my songs and well-formed ideas.
They are organized by musical genre/audience, and more or less in the order of completeness. Ones that say “P” have a dedicated page, where you can read more background info and lyrics and such.
Thank you for listening.
Heavy Poets (Formerly Aries9)
Modern, Progressive Rock & Metal. This is the music I’m most passionate about, and my intention is to turn this into a real band. It may appeal to fans of: Tool, Alice in Chains, Porcupine Tree, and King’s X.
New songs with demo recordings:
From my debut album Aries9: Darkness Reveals the Beauty of Truth
- Shark P
- Diamond Sleeps Tonight P
- Tiny Toon P
- Empire P
- Half Step P
- Cult (Falsetto) P
- Lunar Ascent P
- Throwing Away the Key (At the Gate) P
- Outcast Probe P
- Lucy Struck Out P
Other finished songs yet to be recorded:
- Hurt Cause Machine P
- Going Down
- Leave Behind
- pk
- Arms Lost
- Web
- Perfume
Aristotle’s Hope
I call this “sensitive rock.” Gentler, uplifting and a bit sad, with more acoustic guitars. It may appeal to fans of: Toad the Wet Sprocket, Death Cab for Cutie, Jars of Clay.
Aristotle’s Hope is a distant backburner to Heavy Poets in terms of priority, but there are some quality songs in this vein, too. I’ll get to them once Heavy Poets make a mark.
Songs with Bare-Bone Demo Recording:
- Out of the Ocean P
- Violent Emotion P
- August Moon P
- The Dark Room P
- Solar Ascent P
- Rusty Clipper P
- Dare (Spills Things) P
- Ice Burns P
Finished but unrecorded songs:
- Into the Clouds
- Unexpectedly
- Boy Was Waiting
Arian Blue
Progressive blues rock. I am not a blues fanatic, but sometimes it cuts through like no other. I enjoy Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters — but this stuff is pretty progressive and has more rock than blues. So consider it the self-indulgent music by an electric guitarist. :-)
- Oppression Blues P
- Pill Popper Blues
- 7 Times Down (8 Times Up)
Film and Classical Music
Here are instrumental tracks I’ve done mostly for indie films. Stylistically they are all over the place, but for film music I am more traditional — I tend to gravitate toward orchestral/classical styles.
