Toad the Wet Sprocket “Something’s Always Wrong” from Dulcinea

Toad the Wet Sprocket: Dulcinea

Whoever said that history repeats itself was very wise.

But he also doomed us.

You see, future is a wide open book.  It can contain something that has never happened, something totally new.

It doesn’t have to be like the past.

Yet, in the name of learning lessons, we start making predictions.  As if we know what’s going to happen.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying all predictions or anticipations are bad.

But there is much that is really not useful.  Not all black clouds contain a hail storm — but if you spend the next few hours cowering inside, it doesn’t matter that if it doesn’t storm.  The effect is the same.

Another game
Of putting things aside
As if we’ll come
Back to them sometime
A brace of hopes
A pride of innocence
And you would say
Something has gone wrong

Again
It seems we meet
In the spaces
In between
We’d always say
Won’t be long
No, but something’s always wrong

Every moment is pregnant, we can either rise or fall.

So next time when it looks like things are going to fall apart….

I’m going to catch myself and say, hey, don’t jump to conclusions.

And look for peace.
