Here’s a quick lesson for those of you who write songs on a guitar. If you often feel uninspired to write songs because you fall back on the same ol’ chords all the time, then this is an easy way to get inspired by a fresh-sounding chords. No music theory necessary!
Basically, you take a traditional chord, move one finger by one fret. Go back and forth between the regular chord and its one-note-altered variation. Then slide the variation to somewhere else on the neck.
